| To the right you will see the Wixom - Walled Lake Lions Club's first Board members. I have been informed that only 2 remain alive. The club's first president, Doc. I. Scheel, bottom row, third from the left, is still an active member, Doc is the club's secretary. |

| The lions Club of
Wixom - Walled Lake participated, for the first time, in the Walled lake
Memorial Day Parade. The idea was to honor the Mrs. Lioness Beauty
pageant recipient by having her sit on the Wixom - Walled Lake Lions
float along with her court. On the night of the parade, a dance
followed at the old Walled Lake Casino, which was destroyed by fire the
winter of 1965. Those attending the dance had the opportunity to dance
to the music of Les Elgert. The float received a first prize award. |
